Shopping in Rocky Point
There is plenty of shopping in Rocky Point Mexico. You can enjoy a day shopping for unique gifts and treasures of Puerto Peñasco. Rocky Point has lots of shopping, but the two most popular spots are The Malecon (fish market) and Rodeo Drive. Neither of these shopping destinations will disappoint.
The Malecon has tons of tourist shops and restaurants all over the place. This is also the fish market area, so you can get shrimp and fish fresh off the boats.
Mexican Rodeo Drive also features plenty of shopping with everything from fine jewelry to clothing, trinkets, souvenirs and more. This is always a fun area and only a short drive from the Sandy Beach resorts.
GROCERY STORES
There are plenty of grocery stores throughout Rocky Point and they sell a lot of the same things you can purchase in the US. These are the stores we usually shop at.
-Super Ley: This is our go-to grocery store. There is parking along the front and both sides. We recommend the side parking as it’s easier to get in and out of the spots. There are parking attendants that will help you back out if you park in the front spots along the main street. You can tip them a dollar or two if you’d like, but it is not required.
They have the best fresh tortillas in both flour (harina) and corn (maiz). Just go to the back of the store on the left side. You will see the tortilla press going. Sometimes they will have tortillas ready to go in plastic bags, or you can ask the clerk for your desired quantity and type and they will bag them up for you.
They also have a great deli with tamales, refried beans, rice, flaun, rice pudding and more. The tamales are in the metal warmer to the right of the deli cashier, but they sell out quick, so you need to go fairly early in the day. For the rest of the deli items, just walk down the deli counter and use the plastic containers to get what you want, then pay at the deli cashier.
-Sam’s Club: has very similar inventory to what they carry in the United States.
-Bodega Aurrera: This is Mexico’s version of Walmart
